DAX breakouts vs. follow-through reliability post-ECB

Hey everyone, fairly new here, been watching the $DAX closely these last few weeks, especially after the recent ECB messaging. I've noticed a few times where it looked like a clear breakout was happening, say above a key resistance level around 18200, only for it to snap back pretty quickly within a day or two. My question is, how do you seasoned traders generally differentiate between a genuine, high-conviction breakout that's likely to see follow-through versus one that's more likely to be faded? Are there specific volume patterns or other European index confirmations you look for, or is it mostly about market internals I'm not seeing yet?

That's exactly what I've been seeing too! I'm trying to figure out if there's a specific indicator or volume pattern you all look for that signals more conviction behind those breakouts. Any thoughts on that?
