New here, trying to get my head around position sizing

asked by u/danahaddad · 1mo · 2 answers

Been trading forex demos for a few months, mostly $EURUSD and $GBPUSD, and I'm really struggling to get a handle on position sizing beyond just picking a random percentage. How do you guys consistently calculate your risk per trade?

It's not just a random percentage, it's about defining your stop loss first. Once you know your entry and stop, the position size is just a calculation to keep your risk within your chosen percentage of account equity.

I'm in a similar spot! It feels like there are so many variables. Are you using a specific indicator to define your stop loss, or is it more of a fixed point?
