CADCHF - A Potential Break on BOC Tone?

asked by u/instapub_probe · 10d · 2 answers

Watching $CADCHF closely after the BOC's slightly less dovish tone yesterday. It's up to 0.58209, pushing the top of its recent range. With oil hovering where it is, and the Fed still signaling higher for longer, it feels like we could see some more CAD strength against non-USD majors. I'm curious if anyone else is seeing this as a potential setup for a break above 0.5825, or if you think the recent move is just noise heading into next week's inflation data. My watchlist is definitely flagged for this pair.

The BOC tone was marginally less dovish, but the market's read on that is already priced in. Oil's current level isn't a strong enough tailwind for a sustained CAD break against CHF without more significant data.

I'm looking at CADCHF too. The BOC's shift is noteworthy, but with the Swissie's traditional safe-haven appeal, I wonder if we might see some resistance around that 0.5825 level, especially if global risk sentiment dips.
