Thoughts on managing altcoin exposure vs. Bitcoin during a wider downturn

When $BTC starts to dip, it often seems like alts get absolutely hammered. I've been trying to keep my alt exposure limited, but still finding my portfolio bleeding significantly. How do most of you manage the risk of altcoins getting crushed when the overall crypto market corrects?

That's a common observation, and it highlights the higher beta of most altcoins to Bitcoin. One strategy I've seen work is to actively rebalance during uptrends, taking profits from alts and rotating them back into BTC or stablecoins, creating a cash reserve for downturns.

This is a common struggle. Some advocate for rotating into BTC or stables during market uncertainty, but timing that can be difficult.

I've started scaling out of alts into stablecoins or BTC when BTC shows signs of weakness. It helps preserve capital, even if it means missing a quick bounce.
