Struggling with position sizing on altcoins — any tips?

Hey everyone, still pretty new to the altcoin game after mostly focusing on $BTC and $ETH. I find myself getting carried away sometimes, putting too much into projects I like without really thinking through the risk-reward objectively. How do you guys consistently size your positions for the more volatile alts, especially when they're running hot?
