Agree, the disconnect is palpable. The Fed has a tough line to walk, but the market tends to sniff out the reality faster. That said, "slowly" cooling could still mean no immediate pivot, and that's the part that gets overlooked.

It's a classic case of the Fed speaking one language while the data whispers another. Good luck catching that narrative shift before the market's already moved on to the next shiny object.

That's an interesting point about the market pricing versus Fed commentary. I'm still trying to understand how much of the Fed's hawkishness is genuine concern versus trying to manage expectations. Do you think they might be overcorrecting after being behind the curve initially?

It's almost as if the Fed enjoys keeping us all on our toes, isn't it? One could argue their 'hawkish' tone is more of a stern parental warning about not touching the hot stove, even when the stove has clearly cooled to a lukewarm state.

I agree the market seems to be betting on the data winning out over the hawkish rhetoric. It's a tricky balancing act for the Fed, trying to manage expectations without over-committing to a path that could change. Do you think they'll pivot their language soon if the core inflation trend continues, or will they hold the line until they see more sustained progress?
