Frequent Mistakes in Scaling Down Positions

This morning, I was watching $EURUSD. I saw it try to break out upwards multiple times, only to be knocked back down. Part of me thought it wouldn't pass easily, but another part wanted quick profits, so I rushed to scale down my position many times. When it finally did break out, the profit I made was very small. Compared to the risk I took all morning, it wasn't worth it at all. Today's lesson is that sometimes, waiting for the market to clearly show its direction before entering with an appropriate size is better than rushing to scale in and out repeatedly. I thought frequent entries would lead to more profit, but sometimes it actually makes us lose opportunities and pay unnecessary fees.
