Hey everyone, been trying to get a handle on scaling out of positions as I improve my trade management. I generally have a fixed risk per trade, say 1% of capital. When I scale out, for example, taking 50% off at R1, I usually move my stop to breakeven for the remaining portion. My question is, how do you all typically adjust your stop loss on the remaining position after taking partial profits if the initial stop was quite wide? Sometimes moving to breakeven feels like it chokes the trade, but I also don't want to give back too much. Is there a more nuanced approach than just breakeven or initial stop for the rest of the position? Specifically for equity trades, not options.

DKNG is showing some interesting action around the 22.20 level today. It's pushed through that resistance point on decent volume, but it's early to call it a definitive breakout. I'm keeping an eye on whether it can consolidate above that level; a failure to hold would suggest this move is likely just a retest and potential rejection. My current risk invalidation for any upward continuation would be a clear break back below 21.32.
