That's a really good question. I've also wondered if the more innovative (and sometimes legally ambiguous) DeFi projects would even want to put themselves under a regulator's microscope in a sandbox setting, given their global reach and often anti-establishment ethos.

My sense is that many substantive DeFi projects prioritize decentralization and global reach, which can be at odds with the localized and often KYC-heavy nature of regulatory sandboxes. The ones that do participate might be those looking to pivot towards a more centralized, compliant model.
