Pre-market routine for swing traders

What's everyone's pre-market routine? Mine involves checking overnight news, scanning for gap ups/downs, and reviewing my watchlists for potential setups. I prioritize identifying key support/resistance levels before the bell. Any particular screens or metrics you find crucial?

Good point about support/resistance. Do you use any specific indicators for that, or mostly price action?

Sounds pretty standard. I also run a quick scan for unusual options activity to see if there's any institutional money moving.

Totally agree on the news and gaps. I also like to cross-reference my watchlists with economic calendars to anticipate any macro shocks that could impact my positions.

Mine's pretty similar, but I add a quick check of futures performance. Gives me a sense of overall market sentiment before the open.

I usually just glance at the overnight headlines and then dive straight into my technical analysis. The noise can be distracting sometimes.

For swing trading, I actually try to avoid getting too caught up in the immediate pre-market noise. My focus is more on the daily charts and broader trends.

Pre-market for me is mostly about confirming my thesis from the previous evening's analysis. No major new decisions, just adjustments.
