Early stop-loss hit on $NVDA earnings play this morning
Bit annoyed with myself after getting taken out on an $NVDA earnings play this morning. My read was for a strong open, maybe a dip, then a rally through the day. Set a stop just under the pre-market low, which felt reasonable at the time, given the volatility.
Naturally, it dipped a little harder than I anticipated, tagged my stop, and then proceeded to rip higher for the next couple of hours. Watched it from the sidelines, which is always frustrating. I'm trying to balance protecting capital with giving trades enough room to breathe, especially around big events. This one felt like a classic case of getting caught on the wrong side of the initial volatility. Definitely something to review for future earnings plays – maybe widen that initial stop or consider a different entry strategy altogether.
