On-ramps still too sticky for true mass adoption
It seems like everyone is focused on the 'last mile' for stablecoins—settlement, instant transfers, merchant integration—but the biggest hurdle is still getting fiat into the ecosystem seamlessly and cheaply. We've got $PYUSD at essentially par, fantastic, but the friction point for new users isn't the stablecoin itself, it's the banking on/off-ramp. If getting money onto a platform feels like a multi-step process with hidden fees or significant delays compared to a traditional bank transfer, mass adoption is a pipedream for anything beyond crypto-native users. Even with all the exciting developments, until we solve the fiat-to-stablecoin portal, it's largely preaching to the choir. Thoughts? Am I missing something crucial here?
Completely agree. People focus on the shiny new tech, but if getting fiat in still requires jumping through KYC hoops and waiting days for bank transfers, mass adoption is a pipe dream. It's the boring plumbing that needs fixing first.
