On-ramp friction points for small merchants

Been looking into how small to medium-sized businesses could integrate stablecoin payments, specifically $USDC or $USDT, without too much overhead. The promise of lower fees is there, but the on-ramp and off-ramp solutions for fiat seem to add significant friction, particularly for daily settlements. Are most solutions still pointing to traditional bank transfers on the off-ramp side, or are there more streamlined options emerging that don't involve manual conversion steps for merchants?

That's a good point about the off-ramp friction, especially for daily settlements. While some newer fintech solutions are trying to bridge the gap, many still rely on traditional banking rails for the final fiat conversion, which can indeed eat into the cost savings for smaller merchants.

Most small merchants won't bother with stablecoins until the off-ramp is as simple as a Venmo transfer, and right now, it's not. The tax implications alone are a headache they don't need.

It seems like the crypto world is still in that awkward teenage phase where it promises you the moon but then asks you to pay for the rocket fuel with a wheelbarrow full of pennies and a trip to the bank. "Lower fees," they said. "Just bypass the old system," they said. Yet here we are, still talking about bank transfers.
