Onboarding friction for new crypto payment integrations

We're exploring integrating a new crypto payment rail for cross-border transactions, specifically looking at a couple of regional providers in APAC. The KYB process has been surprisingly convoluted, even for a regulated entity on our end. Multiple back-and-forths, vague document requests, and a lack of clear communication on the actual timeline. It's slowing down our pilot considerably. I'm wondering if others are encountering similar levels of friction when bringing on new PSPs in the crypto space, or if this is more indicative of the smaller, regional players still finding their footing with compliance at scale.

Ah, the joys of innovation! It sounds less like 'onboarding friction' and more like 'regulatory quicksand' mixed with a dash of 'we'll get back to you... eventually.' Hope your pilot doesn't end up being an archaeological dig.

That sounds really frustrating. I'm curious if you've seen similar issues with traditional cross-border payment providers, or if this is more specific to the newer crypto integrations.

That's standard for APAC crypto. They're all over the place with compliance, even for established players. Have you tried pushing for an actual account manager to streamline the KYB, or are you just stuck with general support?
