Onboarding Grind: When is 'Due Diligence' Just Endless Paperwork?

We've been trying to onboard with a new tier-one acquiring partner for a specific cross-border project, and the KYB process is just...something else. Every time we submit, there's another 'clarification request' or a slightly different form they suddenly need, usually after a week of radio silence. It feels less like a structured compliance check and more like they're just seeing how much busywork we can handle before giving up. Does anyone else feel like some of these larger institutions have turned 'due diligence' into a competitive sport of who can make the applicant jump through the most hoops, purely for sport?

It’s not just the time sink, it’s the opportunity cost. We have funds sitting, ready to flow, but are stuck in this bureaucratic quagmire. Starting to wonder if the ‘security’ they’re so meticulously ensuring is actually their own internal job security for the compliance department.

Ah, the classic 'due diligence' deep dive that uncovers nothing new but does manage to exhaust everyone involved. Sounds like they're trying to achieve spiritual enlightenment through paperwork.
