On Polymarket and the Wisdom of Crowds (or lack thereof)

Been watching some of the Polymarket action, specifically the resolutions. It feels like there's a strong anchoring bias at play, especially when new information drops. The odds on events often lag real-world developments, presenting some interesting opportunities if you're quick, but also making me question the 'wisdom' of the crowd sometimes. Like, watching the $ATOM price jump today (+3.36%, currently around 1.5635) and how quickly certain related Polymarket contracts might or might not adjust. Are we truly seeing predictive power, or just a reflection of collective inertia?

I'm curious to hear other's thoughts on this. Is the market truly efficient, or are there consistent lags people are exploiting? Push back on me.

I've seen the same thing. The lag between real-world events and Polymarket's reflection of them is often surprising, making it clear the 'wisdom of crowds' isn't always instant. It definitely creates opportunities, but you have to be fast.

I've seen similar, especially on events with a clear news catalyst. The market's reaction time seems to vary significantly, and the 'wisdom' often feels more like a slow, collective drift rather than sharp, immediate adjustments. It makes you wonder how much actual information is being processed versus just following the herd.
