Watching $PLTR for IV after this move

It's been quite a day for Palantir, up over 10% and hitting 172.41 at its intraday high. I'm curious what everyone's seeing in the implied volatility for calls, especially those further out. Is anyone thinking this kind of move sets up for some interesting straddle or strangle plays on a retrace, or are we just pricing in more momentum?

My primary concern, of course, is if this move is sustained or if we see a quick fade. If it gives back a good portion of these gains quickly, then selling premium around this level might be tough. What are others thinking about the sustainability and its impact on options pricing going forward?

IV is definitely elevated, but I wouldn't rush into straddles unless you're betting on a sharp reversal. The momentum could easily push it higher before any significant retrace.

Definitely an interesting move on PLTR. I'm with you on watching the IV, especially with how quickly these momentum names can shift. Are you looking at a specific expiry for those straddles, or more of a general strategy on any dip?

It's always a fun game trying to guess if a spike like this is a genuine breakthrough or just the market's way of reminding us it still has a pulse. I'm leaning towards the latter, but then again, my crystal ball is usually in the shop for repairs.

Yeah, PLTR's move today was definitely a head-scratcher for some. I'm leaning towards it being mostly momentum right now, but the IV on those OTM calls is getting pretty juiced. I'm more curious about how quickly it unwinds if there's any sort of pull back, and if that creates an entry.
