Don't ignore the EIA build, even if you like the chart

Biggest mistake I've made trading oil was stubbornness against EIA data. Had a clean technical setup on $WTI a while back, looked like a textbook breakout retest. The EIA came out with a larger-than-expected build, well above consensus, and I brushed it off, convinced the chart would hold. Cost me a decent chunk when the market blew through my stop an hour later. Fundamental data trumps your pretty lines sometimes, especially in commodities.

Ah, the age-old battle between beautiful charts and ugly fundamentals. It's almost as if the market enjoys reminding us that sometimes, reality doesn't care about our carefully drawn trendlines. Hope you've recovered those
