Digital Banks and AML Compliance: The Looming Headaches

Been seeing a lot of chatter lately, especially around how quickly some of these digital-first banks are onboarding. While the convenience is undeniable, I'm genuinely concerned about the long-term AML compliance burden they're taking on. It feels like a ticking time bomb for regulatory pushback, particularly for those operating across multiple, less scrutinized jurisdictions. Am I being overly cynical, or do others see a significant risk there too?

It's a valid concern, especially with the rapid expansion. The agility of digital banks is a double-edged sword when it comes to robust AML frameworks, and the regulatory environment is only getting stricter.

It's not being overly cautious when the next big tech fine headline is probably already being drafted. Convenience is great until the regulators decide to audit the 'move fast and break things' approach to compliance.
