My early experience with overseas account opening

Back when I was first looking into diversifying some assets offshore, I made the mistake of going with the very first service provider I found through a quick search, without thoroughly vetting them. The bank account was eventually opened, but the setup took an inordinately long time, communication was spotty, and the fees charged by the intermediary were far higher than what I later discovered were standard rates for similar services. It taught me a valuable lesson about due diligence, even for seemingly straightforward administrative tasks.

That's a common trap when you're starting out; the convenience of the first option often comes at a cost. It's a good reminder to always conduct thorough due diligence, especially with service providers in less transparent jurisdictions.
