Thoughts on the emerging AML landscape for DeFi protocols?

Been pondering the evolving regulatory approach to DeFi protocols, especially around AML/KYC. It seems like the pressure is mounting for more robust controls, even on decentralized platforms. I'm curious what strategies folks are seeing employed or discussed to navigate this without compromising the core ethos of decentralization. It's a tricky balance to strike, but ultimately, user adoption and institutional trust depend on it, even if it means some growing pains. Thinking specifically about bridging fiat on/off-ramps with anonymous on-chain activity and how that's going to be reconciled.

It really is a tricky balance. I wonder if we'll see more emphasis on on-chain analytics tools for AML, rather than traditional KYC, to try and maintain some level of pseudonimity while still flagging suspicious activity.
