Navigating the KYC/AML Labyrinth in DeFi

Been watching the increasing pressure on DeFi protocols concerning KYC/AML. It's clear the regulatory narrative is shifting, and what was once a gray area is rapidly being defined, often with a heavy hand. The question isn't if, but when and how broadly these requirements will be enforced on a global scale, particularly concerning cross-chain interactions and obscure token swaps. Are we seeing the emergence of a multi-tiered DeFi, where regulated, permissioned pools exist alongside truly decentralized, anonymous ones, and what does that mean for liquidity and the 'permissionless' ethos? The practicalities of implementing robust KYC/KYB for a truly global, pseudonymity-first user base without fundamentally altering the core value proposition of many projects seem like a significant hurdle.
