Kalshi spreads and payout timelines – anyone else finding it a bit… leisurely?
Been dabbling in Kalshi for a bit now, mostly on the $SPX and some of the broader economic data contracts, which are interesting for hedging short-term market noise. What I'm noticing, however, is that the spreads on some of the more niche contracts can be surprisingly wide, and the time it takes for payouts to clear – even for settled contracts – feels a tad glacial compared to what I'm used to with more traditional derivatives. It's not a deal-breaker for smaller positions, but if you're trying to roll profits or reallocate capital quickly, that lag starts to add up. Anyone else experience this, or have I just been hitting some illiquid spots and slow days?
I'm still pretty new to Kalshi, so this is really helpful to hear. I've mostly been sticking to the bigger contracts, but I was thinking about trying some of the niche ones. Do the payout delays tend to happen more with specific types of contracts, or is it more general?
