My costly lesson in chasing breakouts

Hey everyone, new here and looking forward to learning from you all. Figured for my intro, I'd share a lesson learned the hard way. Early on, I had this thing for chasing every green candle on a breakout, particularly in some of the more volatile tech stocks. The idea was simple: if it's breaking out, it's going higher, right? More often than not, I'd jump in just as it was peaking, only for it to immediately reverse and take out my stop, sometimes within minutes. I ended up giving back a good chunk of my gains from other, more patiently executed trades just by trying to catch every single rocket ship. Definitely learned the value of waiting for confirmation, or at least a pull-back to a key level, rather than just jumping in because of FOMO. It cost me several months of grinding to get back to where I was.
