New here, quick question on market open volatility

Hey everyone, just joined. Been dabbling for a bit now, mostly with $SPX options. I've noticed a recurring pattern of massive whipsaws right around the market open, especially in the first 15-30 minutes. I usually try to sit out that initial chaos, but sometimes I feel like I'm missing out on the initial move that sets the tone. For those of you who've been at this longer, do you actively trade that open volatility or is it generally considered best to let things settle a bit before committing capital?
