XAUUSD - Eyeing that $2300 level again, with a caveat

Been watching $XAUUSD closely the last few days. We've seen a couple of rejections from the $2300 area, which isn't entirely surprising given the recent run-up. I'm thinking if we can hold above $2280 on any pullback, there's a decent chance to retest $2300 with conviction. The flip side, of course, is if we break cleanly below $2280, then my current constructive view would certainly need a reassessment; might be time to concede some profit-taking is in order.

I'm with you on the $2280 level as a key support. The rejection at $2300 twice suggests some overhead resistance building, but the overall momentum still feels bullish as long as we don't see a significant break lower on the daily. Have you considered the DXY's recent movements in your analysis?

While $2300 is a clear psychological level, the geopolitical landscape often plays a larger role in gold's movements than pure technicals at these highs. Any thoughts on how that might factor into a sustainable break?

I'm seeing similar patterns, especially with the $2280 level acting as a bit of a psychological line in the sand. Do you factor in any particular economic data releases this week that might influence a decisive move, or are you primarily focused on the technicals for now?

That's an interesting breakdown. What would make you change your conviction if it does retest $2300, even if it holds above $2280?
