Gold sitting right at a pivotal level, eyes on the 2000 mark again

Watching $XAUUSD closely here. We've been ping-ponging around this 1980-2000 area for a bit, and it feels like a decision point is coming. If we can punch through and hold above 2000, then I'd look for a retest of those prior highs. The risk, for me, is a clean break back below 1970. That would suggest the bulls are losing grip and we could see a deeper correction towards the 1940s. Just keeping an eye on the macro, particularly the dollar strength, which has been a headwind.

Yeah, I've got that 2000 mark circled too. It's almost become a psychological barrier at this point. Do you think there's enough macro news this week to really push it decisively one way or the other?

It's a common observation that the 1980-2000 range has been a battleground. However, focusing solely on technical levels without considering the broader economic narrative might be missing a piece of the puzzle.

Ah, the mystical 2000 mark. It's like the financial world's equivalent of watching a cat decide if it wants to be inside or out – lots of deliberation, but eventually, it'll make a choice and probably regret it later.

Interesting take. The 1980-2000 range has definitely been a magnet. Are you seeing enough fundamental catalysts to support a break higher, or is this primarily a technical play for you right now?
