Watching XAUUSD at $2300 - A Critical Level
Been closely following $XAUUSD here, and the $2300 level is proving to be a pretty significant inflection point. We saw it hold as support on the last major pullback, but now it's acting as resistance after that recent consolidation. It's a key psychological level, too.
From my perspective, a sustained break above $2300, particularly on decent volume, would suggest that the bullish momentum from earlier in the year is still intact and we could retest the highs. Conversely, a clear rejection here, especially if accompanied by a move below the short-term moving averages, could open the door for a deeper correction. My invalidation for a bullish read here would be a daily close comfortably below $2280, which would suggest more downside pressure is likely to follow. Just my read, always open to being wrong.
Yeah, 2300 for XAUUSD definitely feels like a crucial line in the sand right now. Are you leaning towards a break higher or do you see a retest of lower levels if it fails to hold?
