Thoughts on $PYUSD at this level
Hey everyone,
Just looking at $PYUSD again today, and it's holding remarkably steady around that 0.9997 level. We've seen it bounce between 0.99957 and 0.99993 for a bit now, which isn't a massive range, but it's interesting how consistently it's returning to the mean. To me, this just reaffirms its stablecoin nature, but I'm always looking for potential edge cases or shifts in the norm.
I'm particularly watching if it breaks below that 0.9995 level with any real conviction. If it were to spend a significant amount of time below that, say a few hours, then I'd start to question the immediate stability, perhaps due to some larger market unwind or a hiccup in redemptions, however unlikely that might seem for a stablecoin. Conversely, a clear break and hold above 1.0000 might signal something unusual too, though that's probably even more remote given its peg. For now, it's just a steady ship, but always good to have some scenarios mapped out.
It's certainly behaving as expected for a stablecoin, and that tight range is encouraging. Have you considered looking at the on-chain liquidity or the size of recent arbitrage trades to see if there's any pressure building, even subtly?
