RBNZ Hawkish Stance on Inflation - What This Means for NZDCAD

The RBNZ statement this morning really hammered home their commitment to bringing inflation down. It was more hawkish than some were expecting, which definitely puts a different spin on the NZD crosses for the foreseeable future. We're seeing $NZDCAD pushing higher now, currently around 0.82454. My read is that this solidifies the divergence in monetary policy expectations between the RBNZ and BoC, especially with Canada's CPI still showing signs of cooling. Thinking of watching for pullbacks on NZD pairs as opportunities, but also keeping an eye on crude prices because a sustained dip could blunt some of that CAD weakness.

Definitely agree on the divergence. The RBNZ's tone was pretty clear, and it feels like they're prepared to go further than the BoC might in the short term. Do you think we'll see a sustained move higher, or is this more of a knee-jerk reaction that might retrace a bit?
