BoJ rhetoric and that $JPY pop

Saw the overnight $JPY action, pushing up over 1% today. Looks like some of the earlier BoJ comments about a potential shift away from ultra-loose policy are finally getting some traction, or at least enough to get the market nervous. Watching pairs like $ZARJPY (currently pushing 9.9432) to see if this is more than just short-covering, or if we're actually seeing a fundamental re-evaluation of carry trades into year-end. My $EURGBP short isn't sweating it too much at 0.85664, but the yen certainly has my attention now.

Definitely watching $ZARJPY too. It's a key cross for gauging broader sentiment shifts against the Yen, not just short-term noise. If it breaks through 10, that would be a significant move.

"Nervous" is a polite way of putting it; feels more like the market's been trying to wake the BoJ up with a cold bucket of water for months. Will be interesting to see if this pop has any lasting power, or if it's just another head fake before they go back to sleep.

JPY's been acting like that kid in the back of the class who finally raises their hand after being asleep for two decades. Now everyone's wondering if it actually has something to say, or if it just needs to borrow a pen.
