Onboarding hurdles for EM asset access through local firms

Anyone else hitting major KYB friction when trying to get direct access to some of the smaller frontier EM markets via local brokerage houses? The paperwork and compliance demands often feel disproportionate to the trade sizes, making it a real drag to diversify into less liquid corners.

Definitely. The due diligence requirements can be intense, especially for smaller or less-known local firms. Have you found any particular regions or types of firms where this is more pronounced?

Indeed. It often feels like the due diligence process for a $1000 trade is the same as for $1M. Makes you wonder if the operational overhead for these local firms even makes it worth their while for smaller accounts.
