Watching the oil bounce and what it means for inflation narrative
Morning everyone. Just looking at the pre-market action and $X, which is currently sitting at 54.84, has caught my eye. It's been range-bound for a bit, but there seems to be a bit of a bounce taking hold in the broader energy sector today, possibly on some short-term supply news, or just general sentiment.
My main thought process here is trying to connect this with the inflation narrative that's been so dominant. If crude starts pushing higher again and sustains it, even if it's not a dramatic spike, it's going to make the Fed's job even harder. I'm keeping an eye on how this translates to bond yields and the dollar today. Not making any moves yet, but definitely watching if this energy strength has legs beyond the morning session.

A brief bounce in oil doesn't automatically shift the entire inflation narrative, especially if it's based on short-term supply news. We've seen these before.
