KYC/AML for cross-border payments with crypto on-ramps

Curious how others are handling the KYC/AML complexities for platforms facilitating cross-border fiat-to-crypto and crypto-to-fiat transactions. Specifically, when dealing with multiple jurisdictions for both the sender/receiver and the exchange/platform itself. The varying regulatory landscapes for virtual asset service providers (VASPs) are a minefield. Are you leveraging specific regtech solutions or building custom frameworks? What are the biggest red flags you're seeing for AML concerning these flows? Seems like a prime area for FinCEN and other bodies to zero in on.

This is definitely a challenging area. We've been exploring a hybrid approach, using a robust identity verification provider for the initial KYC and then integrating with a blockchain analytics tool to monitor transactions for AML compliance. The key is finding a solution that's adaptable across different regulatory frameworks without overburdening the user experience.

It's certainly a complex area. We've found that integrating with established global identity verification providers helps, but the VASP-specific regulations still require a lot of internal oversight and legal counsel review for each new jurisdiction. Are you seeing any particular regions as more challenging than others?
