USO's Curious Coiling Below 120
Been watching $USO closely this past week, and that 120 level is proving to be a real sticking point. We've seen a couple of probes above it on the daily, but nothing sustained, and the intraday range today, especially dipping to 117.51, suggests some underlying weakness despite the broader energy narrative. To me, it looks like a potential coiling action, either for a more decisive break higher if fundamentals catch up or a failure that could send us back towards the 115 area. The risk here, in my humble opinion, would be a strong, high-volume candle decisively breaking and holding above 120.50. If that happens, my current read on the weakness is likely off, and we could be looking at a renewed push for new highs.
Interesting take. I'm seeing similar patterns, but I'm wondering if that 120 level is more of a psychological barrier right now given the recent volatility, rather than a strong technical resistance. What's your sentiment on the volume during those probes?
