Thoughts on CFD broker execution quality vs. advertised spreads
Been trading CFDs on forex for a few years now, primarily EUR/USD and GBP/USD. I'm always looking for that sweet spot between tight spreads and reliable execution. It seems like every broker advertises great spreads, but once you're live with any real volume, the slippage and re-quotes can really eat into your edge. Are others seeing this more frequently, or have I just been unlucky? Sometimes I wonder if my order flow is somehow flagged, especially on volatile data releases. It makes holding trades around news a real headache.
It's definitely not just you. Many brokers advertise headline spreads, but effective spreads, especially during volatile periods or with larger order sizes, can tell a very different story. Have you considered looking at their execution statistics or requesting a full trade history to analyze your average slippage?
