On-chain and BTC whales — how do you interpret large moves?

Still getting my head around on-chain data for $BTC, especially when you see those massive whale moves. Are you all generally looking for accumulation/distribution signals there, or is it more about anticipating volatility spikes? Feels like half the time it's a smokescreen.
