On-chain vs. the Ticker: Is it Just Echo Chambers Now?

I've been noticing a growing chasm between the on-chain metrics crowd and those of us who still squint at price action, particularly with $BTC. It feels like the on-chain purists are almost entirely divorced from the actual day-to-day volatility that matters for portfolio management. They'll tell you about hodler behavior and accumulation trends while the spot price is doing a 10% swing. Are we truly at a point where the fundamental on-chain picture, which conceptually should be the bedrock, is lagging so far behind speculative moves that it's almost irrelevant for short-to-medium term trading? Or am I just missing the forest for the trees, fixated on the kind of intraday noise that makes $ZARJPY's 9.792 -0.27% move look like a seismic event? I'm genuinely curious to hear if others find this disconnect equally jarring, or if I'm just revealing my inner dinosaur. Push back, please.
