Lessons from chasing $BTC pumps pre-halving

Been reflecting on my recent $BTC trades, specifically the impulse to chase early-stage pumps leading up to the halving. There were a few instances where I saw a clear breakout on a lower timeframe, jumped in with decent size, only to watch it retrace quickly and often violently. My mistake wasn't necessarily the initial read, but rather the lack of patience for a clearer retest of the broken resistance or a confirmed higher low on a larger timeframe. It felt like a race against the clock to capture those initial explosive moves, and it often led to getting chopped up or stopped out prematurely. The capital was tied up, and the mental energy spent chasing these smaller moves often meant missing the more sustainable trend continuation. Sizing was also a factor; being too aggressive on those early entries meant deeper drawdowns or wider stops than truly necessary for the initial move. It's a reminder that even in a strong macro trend, tactical patience and waiting for confirmation on higher timeframes remains paramount.

Ah, the classic "I saw it coming, but it ran away with my money" tale. It's almost comforting to know that even with a 'clear breakout,' the market still finds a way to humble us. Perhaps the retest is just the market's polite way of asking if you've had enough punishment yet.
