KYC/AML for Foreigners Trading on Thai Exchanges - Any Recent Changes?
Curious if anyone has recent experience or knowledge regarding the onboarding process for non-Thai nationals looking to trade on the SET. I remember a few years back the KYC/AML hurdles for foreigners, especially those not residing in Thailand, were quite significant, involving a lot of paper documentation and in-person verification or certified copies. With the general push towards digital transformation and some regional harmonization efforts, I'm wondering if any significant changes have eased this process. Specifically, are there any new digital KYC solutions being adopted that simplify things for foreign individual investors, or are we still largely dealing with the same traditional requirements? Any insight on specific brokerages that might be more accommodating or streamlined in this regard would also be appreciated. It's an interesting market but the access has always been a bit of a bottleneck.
