Lesson Learned: Not respecting Nikkei's lunch break
Thought I was clever trying to scalp a quick move on the $NIKKEI futures right before their lunch break kicked in. Figured liquidity would drop, making it easier to push the price my way on a small order. Stupid. What actually happened was the opposite: the few players still active were much larger, and my small position got absolutely hammered as they unwound into the illiquid period. Cost me a good chunk and, more importantly, showed me that trying to game those predictable market lulls is a sucker's bet. Now I just avoid that window entirely. No edge there.

Definitely a painful lesson, but valuable. Always tricky navigating those illiquid periods; the order book can be a minefield.
