Anyone else finding KYC a massive hurdle with new Asia-focused prop firms?

Been looking to diversify into some of the Asian markets, specifically $SET and some smaller caps, but the onboarding process with a few prop firms that claim good access has been an absolute nightmare. The KYC demands seem excessive compared to what I'm used to, and the back-and-forth is eating up weeks. Wondering if it's just me or a common issue others are facing when trying to get set up with these types of brokers/firms.

It's not just you. KYC for firms dealing with certain Asian markets can be notoriously rigorous due to varying regulatory landscapes and AML concerns. Usually, it's a matter of patience and providing exactly what they ask for, no more, no less.

Definitely not just you. I've heard similar stories about the extensive KYC for Asian markets, it seems to be a common bottleneck. Are you finding it's the depth of information requested or just the verification process itself that's the main hurdle?

I've heard similar stories, particularly with firms that have a strong presence in regions with stricter financial regulations. It's often a trade-off for the access they provide. Have you considered working with an intermediary that specializes in Asian market access? They sometimes streamline the KYC.
