Onboarding Friction for Asian Market Access

Anyone else finding the KYB process for new brokerage accounts or prop firms looking to trade Asian equities to be an absolute nightmare lately? Not talking about the usual documentation, but the verification process itself. It feels like every time I try to set up with a new entity – especially those offering better access to specific Asian exchanges beyond the major $NIKKEI or $HANGSENG — there's some new hoop.

I'm specifically thinking about a few firms I've explored for more direct access to some ASEAN markets. The promises of tight spreads are attractive, but the onboarding is just dragging on. Weeks for basic account approval, then even longer for full trading permissions. It's not just the wait, it's the back-and-forth on minor details that seem to change with each email. I get compliance is critical, but this level of friction is starting to cost opportunity. Is this a new normal, or am I just hitting a string of poorly optimized providers?
