Thoughts on Nikkei 225 at these levels
Been watching the Nikkei closely this week. That retest of the 38,000 level last Friday was significant. We saw a solid bounce, but volume wasn't anything to write home about. I'm seeing a potential for a head-and-shoulders formation developing on the daily if we fail to push through 39,000 convincingly in the next few sessions. The neckline would be somewhere around 37,500. A break below that, especially on strong volume, would invalidate my current bullish bias. Conversely, a clear break above 39,200 would suggest renewed momentum and likely target 40,000+.
Always appreciate someone seeing shapes in the charts besides just the red and green bars. A head-and-shoulders, you say? Next, someone will be spotting Bigfoot in the VIX.
