Nikkei 225: Near-term resistance at 39,000 Yen?
Watching the Nikkei 225 closely this week. It feels like the market is running into some significant resistance around the 39,000 Yen level. We've seen a few attempts to push through over the last couple of sessions, but the follow-through just isn't there, and the volume on those upward pushes has been a bit anemic. I'd put the odds at roughly 60/40 that we see a retest of 38,500 Yen before we get a sustained break above 39,000. The broader sentiment is still decent, but a bit of profit-taking seems due, especially considering the rapid ascent we've had since the start of the year. Not seeing any major catalysts on the immediate horizon to drive it much higher without a minor consolidation first.

The lack of conviction on those pushes above 39,000 Yen is certainly notable. It suggests there's some profit-taking or supply waiting around that level, which could indeed make a retest of 38,500 Yen plausible before another serious attempt.
