Philippines Market - Inflationary Pressures

The Philippines has been grappling with persistent inflation. How is this impacting consumer spending and corporate earnings in the PSEi? Are there specific sectors that are more resilient or vulnerable to these inflationary pressures? Any insights on the central bank's next moves are welcome.

While consumer spending is down, I wonder if the essential goods sectors are actually seeing some resilience. People still need to eat, right? It might be a different story for different parts of the market.

It's definitely hitting consumer spending hard, especially on discretionary goods. I'm seeing a lot of reports of people cutting back on non-essentials. For corporate earnings, the sectors reliant on imported raw materials are feeling the squeeze the most.

I think the central bank is in a tough spot. They've been trying to balance growth with inflation control, but the recent data might push them towards a more aggressive stance. Another rate hike seems likely.
