Indonesia's Commodity Exports - Long Term View

Indonesia continues to benefit from strong commodity prices, particularly coal and palm oil. While short-term fluctuations are expected, what's the long-term outlook for these exports and their impact on the Jakarta Composite Index ($JCI)? Are there any major policy shifts expected that could alter this trajectory?

I agree that the long-term outlook for Indonesian commodities looks solid, especially with global demand still strong. However, I'm more concerned about potential environmental policies or export restrictions from Indonesia itself that could cap the upside for $JCI.

Good point on the policy shifts. I've been hearing whispers about increased domestic processing requirements for some commodities, which could be a double-edged sword for exporters and the index.
