On scaling into positions in Asian markets during volatility

Hey everyone, still relatively new to trading Asian equities, specifically been looking at $SET and some of the broader index ETFs. I'm finding it tough to decide when to scale into positions, especially with some of the overnight swings we've been seeing. I've heard advice about 'averaging in,' but also 'not catching a falling knife.' How do you guys decide on your entry points when the market feels like it's chopping sideways but with big intraday ranges, or when there's a clear downtrend but you believe in the long-term fundamentals?

Averaging in isn't a strategy, it's a way to lose money slower. You need clear criteria for your entry, not just buying because it's down. What's your setup telling you?

It's definitely a balance. For volatile Asian markets, I tend to use smaller initial positions and then scale in on confirmed support levels rather than just on price dips, which helps avoid catching falling knives. Do you use any technical indicators to confirm those support levels?
