Thoughts on AI GPU supply and its impact on Q3 forecasts
Been pondering the persistent chatter around AI GPU supply for the next couple of quarters. It feels like everyone is baking in significant, continuous increases in availability. However, I'm starting to think we might see some minor bumps in Q3 due to potential raw material bottlenecks or even a slight capacity re-allocation by chip manufacturers to service other high-demand sectors. I'm putting the odds at about 35% that we see some minor, unexpected supply constraints impacting the AI sector specifically in Q3. This isn't about a shortage per se, but more about growth not being as smooth as current consensus implies, which could marginally temper some of the more aggressive revenue forecasts for AI-adjacent companies.

That's an interesting angle. While the focus is heavily on demand, the supply chain resilience for less prominent components could indeed be a silent factor impacting the optimistic Q3 forecasts. It's easy to overlook until it's an issue.
