NVIDIA's Next Earnings Call – Focus on Data Center Guidance

I'm keeping a close eye on NVIDIA's upcoming earnings call, specifically for their data center guidance. The street's got expectations priced in for a continued aggressive ramp, but after the last few quarters of blowout numbers, the law of large numbers starts to bite. I put the odds at around 60% that they'll temper guidance ever so slightly, or at least not raise it as aggressively as some permabulls are hoping. It's not a call for a crash, but more a recognition that the hyper-growth phase can't maintain its current gradient indefinitely. They've captured the lion's share of the AI compute market, and while demand remains robust, the rate of acceleration has to slow down at some point.

Any slight moderation, even if still indicating strong growth, could lead to a quick 5-7% pullback on profit-taking. Conversely, if they blow out guidance again, we could easily see another leg up beyond the recent highs. It's a high-stakes call for the broader AI sector, given NVIDIA's bellwether status. I'm positioning cautiously for the former scenario, but ready to pivot.

That's a solid point about the law of large numbers. I've been wondering the same – it's tough to keep up that kind of acceleration indefinitely. Do you think any potential tempering would be more about supply chain issues finally catching up, or a softening in demand for their specific higher-end chips?

That's an interesting point about the law of large numbers. Do you think that slowdown would be more about market saturation or competitive pressures starting to pick up?
